First Software Release 1.0

CableLabs is pleased to announce the first release of our LPWAN Server. In brief, the LPWAN server is a system for simplifying the provisioning and management of applications and devices across one or more LPWAN networks, such as LoRaWAN and Cat-M1. Seriously, for anyone trying to figure out how to provision a simple device on a LoRa Server, this makes it really easy via a GUI or API. This first release focused on integration with LoRa Servers, and specifically the LoRa Server project, sponsored by CableLabs. Future releases will focus on tighter integration with LTE networks. The API is designed to be flexible for any network server type, including Sigfox, Ingenu and more. We hope you enjoy the conveniences this server provides. Please give us feedback! What do you like or don’t like about the server?

HI,
I just discovered your LPWAN server solution and the possibility to merge in a single point all the data coming from different networks is quite interesting. Nevertheless, I have one question :

Is your system able to receive data of one device from several networks ? That is to say can we associate several networks to one device and “aggregate” the data received. Classical usage is to have one normal network and one or several backup networks if the first one is out.

Hi Gilles,

“Is your system able to receive data of one device from several networks?” Yes, it is intended to do that. It currently works for LoRaWAN networks supported by the platform, and it should work with all LoRaWAN networks once their API is added to the back-end. We originally developed it to support roaming in a LoRaWAN 1.0.x environment, so this was very much thought through. Let me know if you want to discuss it further.

Is anybody deployed LPWAN Server yet and integrated multiple technologies i.e. LoRAWAN , Nb-IoT, LTE-M etc…?

Is LPWAN Server having the same version of LoRAWAN Server as standalone LoRAWAN Server?

Yes, people have deployed the LPWAN server, but integration with IP-based endpoints (e.g., NB-IoT, Cat-M1) is still on our roadmap of features, expected in a couple of months. Today, the LPWAN server is just integrated between LoRa Servers and LoRa Server and TTN.
